Owner, Veterinarian & Board Certified Veterinary Dentist and Oral Surgeon
Dr. Wade Gingerich
Dr. Gingerich was born and raised in South West Florida. He is a true native at heart and loves the outdoors. As the son of a veterinarian, Wade developed an interest for the welfare of animals at an early age and decided to pursue a career in veterinary medicine.
After receiving his veterinary degree (DVM) from the University of Florida in 2003, Dr. Gingerich entered private practice for six years. During his time in general practice, Dr. Gingerich realized the need for increased levels of oral care for animals. In 2009, he returned to graduate school at the University of Minnesota and entered a three-year residency in dentistry and oral surgery (DAVDC). In 2012, Dr. Gingerich successfully completed the residency and passed a rigorous three-day examination to become a diplomate of the American Veterinary Dental College.
After spending seven years in the Midwest, Dr. Gingerich decided to return to Florida to provide exceptional oral care for companion animals in the community where he grew up. His compassion for all animals and the bond they share with their caregivers is evident in his daily practices. This has transcended into the trusting and caring relationships he has with all his clients and their pets.
Certified Veterinary Technician & Veterinary Technician Specialist in Dentistry
Denise was Born and raised in Milwaukee, WI. As a child, she was always caring for the household pets and fostering homeless neighborhood kittens she would find. At the age of seventeen, Denise started working in the kennel at a local veterinary clinic and quickly decided that she wanted to be more involved in the healthcare of animals.
Denise attended Technical College in Madison, WI, graduating with honors, and later passed the National Veterinary Technician Exam to become a Certified Veterinary Technician in 2001. She has spent most her veterinary career in general and emergency practice where she learned first-hand the importance of providing proper dental care for pets. Denise was inspired to focus her career on veterinary dentistry when she attended a veterinary dentistry continuing education course at the University of Wisconsin in 2010.
In 2011, Denise was accepted into the Academy of Veterinary Dental Technicians and began her training to become a Veterinary Technician Specialist. After three years of training under multiple board-certified veterinary dentists, devoting a substantial amount of her time to attending CE courses and passing a rigorous board exam, Denise achieved the recognition as a VTS in Dentistry! Her passion for practicing high quality veterinary dentistry and teaching is what makes Denise such a great attribute as Pet Dental Center’s Lead Dental Technician and residing “Cat Lady”!
CVT, Veterinary Technician Specialist in Anesthesia/Analgesia and Certified Veterinary Pain Practitioner
Jennifer is a native of Massachusetts and has remained determined to care for animals since a young age. At 15, she began her career at a local veterinary practice, which solidified her true passion. Jennifer attended Becker College and earned an AS in Science, followed by her certification as a veterinary technician (CVT) in 1992. After college, she interned at the prestigious Animal Medical Center in New York City.
Returning to Massachusetts, Jennifer established the foundation of her career at the Tufts School of Veterinary Medicine where she balanced both anesthesia and dental technician responsibilities for a variety of animals and breeds. This foundation was further expanded with experience at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital, where she supervised surgical technicians, developed a new dental department, and was involved with continuing education for veterinary technicians. During this time, she also worked at Animal Emergency Care as an Emergency Clinic Technician alongside the attending Emergency Veterinarian.
In 2001, Jennifer was ready for a change of pace and she and her 2 daughters moved to St Kitts, West Indies where she worked as a Senior Anesthesia Technician at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. While at Ross, she worked under board-certified anesthesiologists to become skilled at anesthesia and pain management on a multitude of species including dogs, cats, horses, donkeys, birds, turtles, and monkeys and received her certification as a Veterinary Technician Specialist (2005) and Veterinary Pain Practitioner (2013).
The team at Pet Dental Center has been honored to have Jennifer on board as our Lead Anesthesia Technician since early 2015. Jennifer’s background and skill in anesthesia management should help reduce some of the fears that you may have when it comes to the anesthesia aspect of professional veterinary dental care for your loved one.
Paige was born and raised in Central Florida. She made the move down to Fort Myers after high school to complete her B.S. in Biology at Florida Gulf Coast University. During Paige’s time at FGCU, she worked alongside a herpetologist in a research effort to study invasive frog populations in a conservation setting! How cool is that?! She decided to start her career in veterinary medicine at an emergency and specialty hospital. Paige began working alongside a Board Certified Surgical Oncologist where her interest in anesthesia was peaked. She is going back to school and currently working towards becoming certified as a Veterinary Technician and has hopes to become a Veterinary Technician Specialist in Anesthesia in the future.
What attracted Pet Dental Center to bring Paige onboard was her positive personality and her quick ability to learn. She is inquisitive and wants to make sure she understands the “why”, not just how to execute tasks. These characteristics make her an awesome additional to our anesthesia team. It also doesn’t hurt that she truly thinks every animal that walks in the door is perfect! This obviously includes her energetic German Shepherd and a Hemingway Cat!
Client Care Specialist & Certified Veterinary Assistant
Ashton was born and raised in Indiana. She grew up on a farm where she cared for her dogs, cats and horses! She has always had a passion for animals and started volunteering at the local humane society at 16. When she was a senior in high school, Ashton became a Certified Veterinary Assistant through the AVMA! She then attended Harrison College in Indianapolis and graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology.
Ashton moved to Florida in 2015 and continued her career in Veterinary Medicine. There was a 7-year-old Yorky she met while working at a previous job that’s owner had been saying was “slowing down” and “not acting himself”. Ashton helped discover that the owner had not learned about oral care for her pet and the pet was in desperate need of a dental procedure. She was so happy when the owner came back after the procedure and reported that her fur baby was “Like a new dog! Who plays more now and is no longer having trouble eating his food.” She is excited to help educate other pet owners on the importance of oral healthcare and the benefits it can provide their pets!
We are so happy to have Ashton on our team at Pet Dental Center. We do have to share her with her fiancé in between their beach days and searching for shark teeth, but we’re ok with that! She is always smiling and likes to laugh, which you will quickly learn when you talk to her on the phone or meet her upon your arrival.
